Living With Art
Our Collection
Collecting original art, particularly Ohio art, is our passion. Some might call it a habitual addiction, but we like to refer to it as a “controlled fervor”! Nevertheless, thanks to our dear friend and avid collector, Sharon Weiss, owner of The Sharon Weiss Gallery in Columbus’ incredible Short North Arts District who inspired us and gave us the little “push” we needed to dive into collecting, we’ve never looked back. That was back in 1990. View the October 2022 video that Bobbi and Jeff, the owners of The Inn, were asked to do for Sharon Weiss Gallery’s “Artful Living in Ohio” series
Ohio, besides being our lifelong home, boasts a rich history in the world of art. We are blessed to have our eclectic collection span the course of the past 135 years. It includes creative pieces from some of Ohio’s most renowned and celebrated painters and sculptors as well as a distinguished group of today’s up-and-coming, well-established artists generating some wonderful works across all mediums. Historic works by Schille, Singer, Bourgignon, Bellows, Luks, Sommer, Springer, Kinsman-Waters, Cooke, Baker, Burkhardt, Meurer, Hopkins, Reed, Martin, and Cope hang alongside or are intermingled with more contemporary and outsider/folk artists such as Robinson, Hamilton, Hawkins, Griffith, Worthington, Kuehn, Ries, Gingerich, Roberts, Young, McEwan, Pentak, Mason, Hostetler, Long, Steffy, Jewell, Lubkeman, Akers, Mullen, Miller, Gough, Carpenter, Dial, Baroway, Carlisle, and Van Williams Jr.
Even The Inn’s own Local Artisan Shoppe has been built around showing the work of local glass artists, potters, painters, woodworkers, and more!
“This was a surprise for my birthday and what a gift it has been. Wandering and taking in the artwork on every wall, the extensive collection of books on every shelf, good conversation, incredible breakfast, and memories to take home. Thank you both – dogs and all.”
