New England Charm in the Heart of Ohio

March • Bryn Du Art Show • The Bryn Du Art Show is an annual juried show.  All of the exhibited art is available for sale. The week-long plus show is sponsored by the Village of Granville and numerous local companies. A portion of the proceeds benefits Bryn Du Mansion. Each year, over 100 artists submit work with approximately 50 artists, and their work is chosen for the show. Accepted artists may exhibit up to four works. The exhibit may have anywhere from 100 to 150 pieces on display. Read more…..

Early June • Schnormeier Gardens – Gambier, OH • Annual Tour • The Schnormeiers began building the gardens in 1996. Over the years, they have grown to include 50-acres of manicured lawns,10 lakes, a variety of discrete garden areas, and several waterfalls. The focal point of the property is a spectacular Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired home. This private residence was completed in 1994. Other structures on the property include a Japanese teahouse, garden house, Chinese pavilion, and arched bridge. An ever-growing collection of unique sculptures are also located on the grounds. The Schnormeiers are delighted to share their gardens with you at their annual open house. These four days are the only time that the gardens are open to the general public each year.  Read more…..

Early June • Muirfield Village, Dublin, OH • PGA’s Annual Memorial Tournament • The Memorial Tournament is a PGA Tour golf tournament founded by Jack Nicklaus. It is played on a Nicklaus-designed course at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, a suburb north of Nicklaus’ hometown of Columbus. One of the main features of the tournament is a yearly induction ceremony honoring past golfers. A plaque for each honoree is installed near the clubhouse at Muirfield. Nicklaus himself was the honoree in 2000.  Read more…..

1st or 2nd Saturday in September • Annual Granville HotLicks Blues Fest • This party, featuring free blues music with food provided by local vendors, has brought thousands of residents to downtown Granville in the past. It has enabled the Granville Federation for the Appreciation of the Blues (GFAB), the festival’s organizer, to donate thousands of dollars to local charities. Mid-November • Bryn Du Mansion • Annual Rendville Art Show • A perennial favorite in Granville, the exhibit features all-new artwork created by artists with disabilities.
